St. Mary’s School
St. Mary’s School has been providing Catholic education in Owatonna for more than 145 years. Over that time many things have changed, but one thing has remained constant — outstanding teachers providing a nurturing yet academically challenging environment for our students. Our current mission statement reads:
Partnering with families
To develop a student’s full potential
In Mind, Body, and Spirit
Through Catholic values.
We truly believe that our role is to partner with parents to ensure that our students reach their full potential. Most importantly, our commitment to developing the mind, body and spirit of each student through the teachings of Jesus Christ is paramount in the hearts and minds of our teachers. Faith Formation/Religious Education
Our Faith Formation program is designed to serve both Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s Parishes in Owatonna.
Our goal is to form our youth in their Catholic faith by helping them learn and understand the teachings of the Church, how to pray so they can have a personal relationship with Christ, and how to share the truth of the Catholic faith in their everyday lives. We have faith formation classes for those in Grade 1 – Confirmation years. Confirmation years are typically 9th and 10th grade. We also have a variety of opportunities for grades 1-12 to stay involved during the summer such as Totus Tuus, Steubenville Conference and Camp Summit.
The Faith Formation Office can be found at St. Mary’s School. Registration for our classes takes place in the early summer. All classes begin in mid-September. We welcome catechists from both Sacred Heart and St. Joseph to help our youth be formed in their Catholic Faith
The Faith Formation Director is Brittany Boubin. Contact her at 507-686-5184 or email shsjyouth@shsjfaithformation.org.
